An independent company with 22 years of expertise in flight data animation for Flight Safety and Pilot Training
How can data be used to enhance pilots’ comprehension in dynamic situations?
At CEFA AVIATION, we possess the expertise to transform flight data into animated form. While this is not a new concept, as flight safety offices have been using animated data for over two decades, the question remains:
What is the impact at the pilot level?
In many airlines, data is relayed to pilots through a matrix of numbers or via a specialized tablet application that displays engineering values and statistics. However, this approach has resulted in undesirable behavior, such as the development of individual techniques.
At CEFA AVIATION, we believe that an effective corrective behavior can only be achieved by understanding the process that led to an undesired outcome. Drawing on our experience with more than 100 clients, we have created an interactive application that generates realistic animations of cockpit processes and outcomes in real-time from any moment during a flight.
Our aim is to immerse the pilot in their familiar operating environment rather than in a generic pseudo-cockpit with standard instruments. By using realistic cockpits layout for over 30 common airliners and a hand tool that displays the pilot’s actions, we strive to help pilots comprehend the combination of actions and processes that lead to a particular outcome.
In addition to 3D animations, we offer a realistic front window view from the pilot’s perspective, enhancing the understanding and results of cockpit processes. These animations are an effective means of sharing information or seeking help to improve, not only based on personal perception and memory but on reviewable and improvable processes.
